Слава Україні! Glory to the Ukraine!
A Ukrainian song with Irish and Polish influences to support the humanitarian aid effort.
Ukrainian culture has always been close to our hearts, being an inspiration for numerous songs which we have been practising, and we have to admit that the recent events in Ukraine hit us very hard.
Some of us come from the South-Eastern Poland, with the history of our families hailing back to places like Lviv – one of the largest Ukrainian cities affected by the war, and with Iweta’s and Witek’s surnames most likely coming from a small town of Кульчиці in Western Ukraine. Some of our good friends come from and live in Ukraine, and it truly breaks our hearts to see the tragedy unfolding there. Alongside the heroic actions of Ukrainian people, fighting for their freedom, the humanitarian crisis continues to deepen, and requires a lot of support to be overcome.
Zozulya is a traditional Ukrainian song “Летіла зозуля”, telling a story of a girl who fell in love with a married man and sings her regrets to a cuckoo. Arranged to include some of our Irish and Polish musical influences, it was supposed to be our next release, but we never imagined that we would be finalising it in such tragic circumstances. All of us have been supporting various Irish and Polish humanitarian aid actions individually, but we want to show our solidarity and try to help as a band, as well. Our goal now is to make our music contribute to these noble efforts as much as possible. Hence, we decided to release “Zozulya” in a different format, allowing you to download it directly from our web shop in exchange for a humanitarian aid donation in the amount of your choice.
The procedure is very simple – name your price and accept our latest musical child as a token of appreciation for your kind support. You can do the same for all our previous releases in the "Listen" section as well.
Our promise is that we will donate 100% of the receipts as well as all royalties generated to UNHCR helping Ukrainian refugees. They really need our support - let’s make it together!
